We think it is vital that we work with the business community to help local people and that’s why we are always looking for new partnerships with local business. Many companies find it increasingly beneficial to get involved with a local charity; it boosts employee satisfaction and helps your company to meet its social responsibilities. It also helps us to integrate with the whole community and educate people on our own vulnerabilities to homelessness and poverty. Here are just a number of ways that your company could help change lives.
Employee Fundraising
Employee fundraising can be achieved in a number of ways, as an individual or as a group. A fundraising event is an extremely effective way to motivate staff and provide team-building opportunities. It encourages team building and gives you and your employees the opportunity to make a real difference and help change people’s lives for the better. Many companies will match the amount of money that you raise – so what better incentive to make your fundraising a success!
If you have any ideas about what you would like to do, then do get in touch and we can offer ideas, advice and help you with the details and resources necessary to achieve your goal.
Payroll Giving
This is a scheme that enables you to make regular, tax free donations to the charity of your choice. Your gift comes straight from your salary, so it’s as straightforward as paying National Insurance and it’s really easy to set up. The money comes out of your salary before tax, which means your gift is worth more because the money you would have given to the Inland Revenue comes to us instead.
If your company does not yet operate a Payroll Giving scheme, you can talk to your payroll department to arrange a scheme that allows you to donate through your salary. For more information on Payroll Giving tel. 0845 602 6786 or visit The Payroll Giving Centre website.
Sponsorship
As a charity we often produce materials to enable us to communicate the services we provide and their impact, providing a range of sponsorship opportunities for local business. Sponsorship increases the awareness of your company amongst consumers, investors and policy makers whilst also helping us to reduce our costs.
Cause-related marketing
This is area that we would like to develop and would be especially interested from any companies looking for such as opportunity. Cause related marketing enhances your corporate brand and helps retain customers. It also offers us with the opportunity to communicate with an audience we might not have previously accessed.
Volunteering
Many companies now run schemes which offer local volunteering opportunities to their employees. These could either be a one-off group activity or longer term involvement on a one-to-one basis. Find out from your company if they run an employee volunteering scheme. If they do then we may have just the activity for you to get involved with.
