Did you make a New Year’s resolution to help others? If you did then a Kent homelessness charity would like to hear from you.

Porchlight is searching for volunteers from across the county to help with a variety of tasks in its fundraising team.

Rachel van Hoven, Community Fundraising Officer for the charity said: “The main thing we are looking for is people to place collection tins in local businesses and make sure they get emptied regularly. However, we also need enthusiastic people to help with manning information stands, putting up posters for events, organise their own fundraising events and on occasion we could even use some extra admin support.”

Rachel says that volunteers can commit to as much or as little time as they choose: “The support of volunteers is becoming a vital part of our fundraising efforts. Time commitment varies from 1 day every few months to a few hours once a week. Through volunteering, local people can play a big role in supporting the most vulnerable people in their community. If you have some time to spare we would really like to hear from you.”
