Behind the scenes at Porchlight
How we're helping: support for people sleeping rough is the tip of the iceberg
Porchlight exists to make homelessness and poverty in Kent a thing of the past.
The journey for people we help is about more than finding a place to live though; it’s also about supporting them to be mentally and physically ready to turn their life around.
Already this year, we have given support, and advice to thousands of people facing homelessness or feeling under pressure because of problems with housing, mental health, money, jobs or feeling isolated from their community.
We also help people who are living in the community to stay on track because providing the right support early can help them stay healthy, stay connected with others and ultimately stay housed.
When someone is facing multiple pressures, taking first step to ask for support is often the hardest. But talking about it can lead to something life changing.
