Porchlight trustee (voluntary position)

We’re seeking someone to join our board of trustees and help ensure a safe home, better life and fairer future for everyone.

We’re looking for a person to join the board of trustees for Porchlight, a Kent-based charity, to help people facing poverty, and inequality in health and housing.

This role is about helping the board of trustees to ensure Porchlight follows best practices in relation to the support it provides and its ethical, governance and legal responsibilities.

Porchlight was founded to help people facing the devastating effects of homelessness. Today, we also tackle the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality. By volunteering your knowledge, skills and experience, you can help us realise our vision of a safe home, better life and fairer future for everyone.

Our trustee roles are voluntary, and we ask you to commit to at least three years. There are five board meetings and four subcommittee meetings per year. Trustees also have the opportunity to use their skills to aid our work outside of these times.

We are committed to encouraging further growth from diverse groups, and we welcome applications from people of all abilities and currently underrepresented groups, which we are able to support as an inclusive and disability-confident employer. We currently have an underrepresentation of people from ethnic minority communities and people with health conditions or impairments. As such, we particularly welcome applicants from these groups.
