Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone. At Porchlight, we're in a race against time to help people in Kent who are homeless.

The bleak weather and long dark nights make life on the streets in winter a dangerous and terrifying ordeal.

We have to act now to bring people in from the cold and give them the support they need to rebuild their lives - before it's too late.

Christmas can be a particularly difficult time to be homeless. It's impossible to escape the damp and cold, and on the streets you never feel safe. Seeing families and friends enjoying time together can compound feelings of loneliness and make you feel trapped.

We go out in all weathers, in towns and cities across Kent, to find people sleeping rough. We get to know them for who they are, provide the support they need to escape the streets and help them to reconnect with who they were before becoming homeless.

Thanks to you, we supported more than 640 people who were sleeping rough last year, and helped more people than ever get back into work.

But for every person we help, there are many more in need of our urgent support.
