Community mental health volunteer

Help people connect with the right support services for them

About us

We are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.

The role

When someone’s mental health declines, it could be due to the effect of ongoing social problems - such as housing issues, debt or becoming isolated from others.

You can help us provide support in these areas, alleviating the pressures they face and allowing their wellbeing to improve.

As part of our community link team, you will help people access support related to mental health, physical health, finance, housing, employment and more. This role involves:

  • Helping our team to assess people’s needs
  • Accompanying people we support to appointments or community activities when they feel unable to go on their own
  • Helping Porchlight to advertise this service at public events
  • Some administrative duties
  • Supporting people who are accessing our community drop-ins

An induction and training will be provided.

This role is based in Thanet.
