Can you spare a few hours every Tuesday to help staff our BeYou meet-up for LGBTQ+ young people?
It's somewhere 13 to 18-year-olds can go to be themselves, make friends and get advice for any issues they're facing.
You’ll be offering advice to help young people address any concerns or worries relating to their sexuality, gender identity or expression. This could involve being someone LGBTQ+ young people can talk to about issues they're facing, helping them improve their confidence and self-esteem, and encouraging them to pursue their passions and develop their talents.
What we need from you
- Someone who can talk with, motivate and engage young people
- You should have a good understanding of the issues LGBTQ+ young people face
- We ask that volunteers undergo some training (provided by Porchlight)
- Two references will be required and a DBS check will be undertaken
Where
- Northfleet (exact location will be given once you've been accepted as a volunteer)
- Tuesdays, 4.30pm - 6pm
