Our Helpline is often the first point of communication, offering advice and support to people who have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. Many have reached crisis point and we help get them through one of the most difficult times of their lives.
Lillian took my call. She gave me advice and promised to send a message to the rough sleeper worker in my area, in time for his morning shift. She understood how panicked and desperate I was, so she talked to me for a long while. She asked me if I had any children and I told her of my son. Our conversation made me feel so warm that all the cold was gone.
