If life is feeling difficult or problems are mounting up, it can affect your mental or physical health. We’re here to help you support your health, while you take steps towards a positive future.

We know from our experience supporting people with a range of needs, that life events like losing a job or housing insecurity can have a huge impact on your mental health.

And if pressures such as debt, difficulties with benefits or the threat of homelessness build up, people’s mental health will often get worse. You may completely lose confidence.

Porchlight's mental health services

Our staff can help you to take care of your mental and physical health to build the confidence you need to move forward in life.

In addition to any support we give you with finding a job, or learning new skills, we can connect you with a range of mental health support run by Porchlight. There is something to suit everyone.

Through our Porchlight Open Door community meet-ups we also deliver community activities where you can socialise and learn to look after your own mental health in everyday life, such as through mindfulness or sports.


We recognise the benefits a healthy balanced diet can have on physical and mental health.

We have Food Champions. This means they are trained by the NHS to deliver advice on how to eat healthily, how to eat well on a budget, understanding food labels and how to understand the different energy needs of different individuals.

At our Porchlight Open Door meet ups we always provide a nutritious and delicious healthy meal and give practical cooking lessons so that people can learn new skills to try at home.

Movement and exercise

We understand the importance of movement and exercise, the powerful impact this has on the body, as well as our mental health and overall wellbeing.

We run all kinds of activities to help people get moving. Whatever you’re interested in, and whatever level you’re starting at, we can help you find activities that will help you reach your goals.
