Award for involving residents in how Porchlight's run
15 September 2017
We know that if we want our services to be of real benefit we must involve the people who use them. Now that commitment has been recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony.
We won the excellent project led by residents category at the Kent Housing Group awards.
The nomination was for our jobs, education and training steering group – eight residents who meet on a monthly basis to make decisions about our activities programme, allocate budgets and review the employment advice and training that we offer our service users.
“Our residents’ experiences of being supported by us mean they know better than anyone what works and what could be improved,” says Porchlight’s Richard Barnard.
“Putting them in the driving seat lets them know they are being listened to, improves their confidence and helps us ensure Porchlight is doing the best job it can.”
While you're here: we want to help everyone who needs it but need your support to do so. Please make a donation so Porchlight can be there for those in need.
