Benenden Hospital staff are bursting with success

18 March 2019

Hospital staff work incredibly hard and have our full respect.

Somehow, staff at Benenden Hospital Trust found the time to raise £7500 for Porchlight as well as caring for their patients.

"It has been brilliant getting staff and visitors involved in supporting such a worthy local cause, and thank you to everyone who organised, participated and donated," said Emma Clements, Benenden’s support services manager. "It's the most we’ve ever raised in one year!"

Throughout 2018 the hospital organised monthly fundraising activities for staff and visitors including fruit sales, a sponsored sleep out, and a very popular balloon popping raffle that included a day’s annual leave as a prize.

Kate Boulding, Porchlight’s corporate partnerships manager, has been supporting them with their fundraising. "We’ve loved hearing what Benenden Hospital have been getting up to and we’re so grateful for all their efforts. It means such a lot when local organisations are supportive of our work and want to help."

Benenden Hospital are extending their support into 2019 and fundraising is already underway! Plans for the year include a team taking on the KM Bike Ride in April, and an even bigger and better sponsored sleep out in the autumn.

All the funds raised will enable us to continue supporting some of the most excluded and vulnerable people in our society. If your company or organisation would like to get involved in fundraising for Porchlight, please contact getinvolved@porchlight.org.uk
