Christmas fundraising ideas
Get into the Christmas spirit with our simple fundraising activities
As the festive season fast approaches, why not get your loved ones together for some fun activities that will not only keep the whole family entertained, but also raise vital money for homeless and vulnerable people in your community.
Christmas Day is a time for most of us to come together with friends and family to enjoy a nice meal, play some games and watch our favourite films. But for people who are homeless, their day will be spent cold, alone and hungry.
You can change that by taking part in one of our simple festive fundraising activities.
1. Christmas bake sale
Clear the decks, throw on your reindeer aprons, and let the small people go wild in the kitchen.
Get messy making Christmas tree biscuits, gingerbread snowmen and hot chocolate cupcakes.
Take your delicious baked treats when you visit friends and family and ask for donations.
2. Sponsored winter walk
Burn off that festive indulgence with a sponsored winter walk. Map out a safe route and ask friends, family, and neighbours to sponsor you.
Make it more fun by walking in a group and rewarding yourselves with a warm drink at the end.
We can provide support, sponsorship forms and collection tins.
2. Christmas crafting afternoon
Let your festive creativity flow by hosting a crafting afternoon.
This one is great for all ages and the list of what you can create is endless.
From making your own fabulous cards to producing sparkling Christmas tree decorations.
Either charge an entry fee to join the crafting party, or sell your cards and decorations to friends and family.
4. Christmas movie marathon
Stock up on popcorn, put your Christmas PJ’s on and grab your favourite festive films.
You could challenge yourself to 5 movies back-to-back, a couple a day or go all out and do a 24-hour film fest.
Either ask for sponsorship or a donation to join your movie marathon.
Potential films to add to your list could be The Grinch, Elf, The Holiday, Love Actually or everyone's favourite The Muppet Christmas Carol.
5. Host a Christmas quiz
Bring people together with a Christmas-themed quiz night.
Use free online platforms to host the event, and gather donations by charging a small entry fee. Add bonus rounds with holiday trivia or music to keep everyone entertained.
6. Festive fancy dress party
A super simple challenge that everyone can take part in.
Host a fancy dress or Christmas jumper party at school, work or home and collect donations from participants.
Put your Christmas playlist on and make it even more fun by getting everybody up dancing and playing games.
All ages will enjoy this fundraiser and it's guaranteed to kick start that festive feeling.
