Service user involvement

We know that if we want our services to be of real benefit, we must involve the people that use them.

We give people a voice in the decisions that matter to them so that they can help us shape the way Porchlight’s services are delivered.

To do this, we’ve set up a Service User Involvement Group. It allows the people we support to be part of our recruitment and selection process, make decisions about our jobs, education & training programme, and look at new opportunities in fundraising and communications.

Groups have also been set up to feed into our community mental health and wellbeing service - Live Well Kent – helping to make key decisions on how it’s run.

We also encourage our clients to have a voice within the wider community – at local and national level. This can include sharing their experiences with some of the national homelessness groups we work with.
