Treasurer (volunteer role)
About us: We are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.
The role: Are you a qualified accountant wanting to make a difference to the lives of homeless and vulnerable people? We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.
The Treasurer’s main role is to maintain a strategic overview of our finances, ensuring viability, compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, effective use of resources and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained. We are especially keen to hear from people with knowledge of homelessness, supported housing or charity governance and audit, preferably at a strategic level.
By committing your time and expertise to our quarterly Board and sub-committee meetings, you can become part of Kent's leading community and homelessness charity and make a lasting difference to the lives of some of the most excluded people in our society.
This is an unpaid position but travel expenses can be provided.
The role: To apply for this position, please complete and return the application form.
If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please do not hesitate to call Porchlight chief executive Mike Barrett on 01227 760078. If you would like to pay an informal visit to one of our hostels to find out more about our work, contact Cathy Brown (PA to the chief executive) on the same number.
