Kent Scouts BIG Cardboard Sleepout
Following the success of the 2018 and 2022 sleepouts, Scouts from across Kent will come together for one powerful night to raise vital funds and awareness.
What is the BIG Cardboard Sleep Out?
On World Homeless Day (10 October 2026) Scout districts across Kent will gather to build cardboard shelters and spend one night out to raise vital funds to help those facing the challenges of homelessness or mental ill health.
It’s an important opportunity for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers to work together, build strong bonds and take part in an eye-opening experience that will help them better understand what people who live and sleep on the streets face every day.
When is it?
Saturday 10 October 2026
Who can take part?
Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
Why you should take part
Homelessness is tough. People sleeping rough face cold nights, no safe place to sleep, and everyday challenges most of us never think about.
By taking part in the sleepout, you will:
- Raise awareness about homelessness
- Help raise funds to give people a safe place to sleep, food, and support
- Learn and lead by showing kindness and teamwork
Every pound you raise can make a huge difference — from providing a hot meal or clean clothes, to helping someone get safe accommodation.
A message to Scouts
Hi Scouts!
We’re so excited that you’re joining us for the Kent Scout Cardboard Sleepout! By sleeping out for one night, you’re helping people who don’t have a safe place to sleep and showing that you care.
This is your chance to make a real difference. Every pound you raise helps someone in Kent start a new chapter in their life.
Thank you for helping Porchlight continue its vital work.
