Corporate fundraising at Christmas

Give hope this Christmas

Christmas should be a time for friends and family, food and warmth. But this year, thousands of people in Kent are in urgent need of your help.

Your organisation's fundraising can help turn someone's life around

We've compiled a list of our favourite festive fundraising ideas, from alternative secret Santas to Christmas quizzes. No matter how big or small your organisation is, or how much time you have to spare, we guarantee you'll be able to help fundraise this Christmas.

Hosting a work Christmas dinner or party? Show a Porchlight film, pop collection buckets around the room, and ask colleagues to text the word PORCHLIGHT to 70460 to donate £3. (standard network rates apply)

Tired of the same old Secret Santa gifts? Make a change this year and hold an alternative Secret Santa - ask your colleagues to donate instead of spending on another scented candle gift set...

Finishing early for Christmas? If you and your colleagues donate your last hour's pay for 2021, you can leave for the holidays knowing you've made a positive change to the lives of those in need.

Hosting a quiz is a great way to bring teams together, exercise minds and have fun, while raising money for those most in need. Bonus points if you add a raffle or auction!

Got a brilliant idea?

If you have a unique, creative fundraising idea, or just need a bit of help to get your idea off the ground, our fundraising team would love to hear from you.

Why do we need your help?

This year, we are expecting to see a rise in the number of people needing our help.

Now that the Covid protection measures that were keeping people afloat have come to an end, people are struggling - 5.5 million people in the UK are facing poverty, and more than 9,300 households in Kent are at risk of losing their homes this winter.

With your help, we can be there to provide support for those who need it. Porchlight will be working hard this Christmas to provide timely, personalised services to help prevent people from becoming homeless, provide housing to those in need and help challenge negative attitudes surrounding homelessness, mental ill health and poverty.

How will your organisation's donation help?

  • £500 could pay the rent deposit for a service user who is moving into their own flat
  • £1,000 could prevent five people from becoming homeless by supporting them in their own home for one month
  • £2,000 could fund the much needed refurbishment of some of our supported housing projects
  • £6,500 could fund the development of a 3 bedroom property into Porchlight rental standards to provide a home for our clients
