Homelessness services are having their funding cut... the government must act
We spoke to the National Housing Federation about the challenges ahead
Funding for Kent homelessness services is being cut just as the rising cost of living is pushing households to the brink.
It's a frightening prospect - some of the most vulnerable people in our communities are going to be left in a desperate situation.
We're doing everything we can to keep a lifeline in place for those who have nowhere else to turn. This includes working with local councils to develop new services that can plug some of the gaps that these funding cuts will leave.
But there's only so much we can do. A crisis is looming, and the only way to avoid it is if the government ringfences funding for housing-related support.
Our head of homelessness services, Chris Burgess, spoke to the National Housing Federation about the challenges that we now face and what must be done to tackle them.
