Porchlight Impact Report 2025/2026

Helping people across Kent and Medway find safety, stability and hope.

This year, Porchlight supported 4,672 people across Kent and Medway who were facing homelessness, poverty, poor mental health and inequality. Our 2025/2026 Impact Report shows how practical support, safe services and trusted partnerships helped people move towards safer homes, improved wellbeing and greater independence.

It also sets out the progress we have made as an organisation: strengthening service quality, maintaining safe and compliant services, building financial resilience and preparing for a future where more people will need our help.

A message from our CEO

Every number in this report represents a person: someone who needed a safe place to stay, someone rebuilding after crisis, someone looking for support with their mental health, or someone trying to move forward in the face of poverty and inequality.

Thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners, funders and supporters, Porchlight has continued to be there for people across Kent and Medway. We have delivered strong outcomes, maintained safe services and taken careful steps to strengthen the charity for the future.

There is still urgent need in our communities. But this report shows what is possible when people work together: more people can find safety, stability and hope.

With consistent, person-centred support, Marcus was able to move away from crisis and begin rebuilding stability. His story shows how trusted relationships and practical help can support someone to take the next step towards independence.

Eve’s story
Eve’s experience highlights the importance of support that recognises the whole person. With the right help at the right time, she was able to improve her wellbeing and look ahead with greater confidence.

Kim’s story
Kim’s story demonstrates the impact of patient, trauma-informed support. It shows how people can move from insecurity and isolation towards safer housing, stronger connections and a more hopeful future.

Partnership that makes change possible

Porchlight’s work is rooted in local partnerships. Through programmes including Live Well Kent and Medway, Mental Health Together, rough sleeper outreach, supported housing, Family Routes, hospital step-down work and the Client Support Fund, we help people access the support they need when they need it most.

Live Well Kent and Medway alone helped more than 3,100 people this year and will expand its delivery partner network from six to 12 in 2026/2027, strengthening community-based support across the area.
