Cyclists' support goes to extraordinary lengths

Streetspace team cycles 874 miles... in three days

We're always amazed just how far people will go to support Porchlight's work. These Streetspace employees cycled the length of the UK to help us tackle homelessness.

They raised £2,908.40 by cycling 874 miles - the equivalent of Land’s End to John O’Groats - on static bikes at the company's head office. They had planned to complete the challenge in nine days, but did it in three.

Thirty-four employees took part, and staff members Nic Fennell, Tom Landman and Sam Coughlan managed to cycle an incredible 239.54 miles between them.

"The motivation amongst their team was clear to see, smashing their mileage target in around a third of the expected time," says Porchlight's Nathan Tough.

"The money Streetspace raised is enough to keep a Porchlight worker on the street for almost a month meaning that we are able to keep reaching out to those who need us. We're really grateful to them."

All the funds raised will enable us to continue supporting some of the most excluded and vulnerable people in our society.
